Last Friday marked the final day of my internship at Gridiron Insurance Underwriters, Inc., and I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and growth I have had over the past twelve weeks.
Throughout my time at Gridiron, I had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from several exceptional teams, including Signature Specialty, LP, the Property team, and the Data team. Each group offered a unique perspective on the insurance industry and contributed to a deeper understanding of the tools, strategies, and collaboration that drive a successful organization.
This internship has not only strengthened my technical and analytical skills but also reaffirmed my interest in the insurance industry. I am especially thankful to everyone at Gridiron for welcoming me as part of the team and for the time they invested in mentoring, teaching, and supporting my growth. From running single models to quoting and binding policies, this has been an unforgettable experience that I will carry with me throughout my professional journey.
While we may not be able to offer terms on properties located within two miles of the coast or provide liquor liability without accompanying property coverage, learning the unique appetites of each carrier was an extremely valuable experience.
A special thank you to David DeMott, Timm Miller, Sydney Bowles, Connor Rogers, Daniel Bertsch, XIAO HAN, Luis Guillermes, CPCU,AMIM,AIDA,ARM,AU,ASLI,AIC,SPPA... , Justin Lussier, Kyara Benitez, AU, ARM, AMIM, Michael Lopez, and the entire Gridiron team for being such incredible mentors and consistent sources of support throughout this journey.
Looking ahead to my final year at FSU, and as always, “just write what’s right.”
