It was an honor to meet this week with leaders from the The White House's National Energy Dominance Council, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation, the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO), and Congressman Nathaniel Moran of Texas -- as T5 Smackover Partners advances the development of the Smackover Formation in East Texas, an untapped, nationally strategic asset with the ability to reshape America’s future across critical minerals, lithium, and clean geothermal energy production. The United States is in dire need of more electrons, critical minerals, and a resilient domestic supply chain. The Smackover Formation represents a generational opportunity to strengthen American energy security, support domestic manufacturing, reduce foreign dependence, and accelerate reliable baseload energy and critical mineral production here at home. Little to no offset data. Undeveloped resources. Artesian pressures. The challenge of the unknown. It's hard to explain what this feels like, but to say that I'm honored is an understatement, and to say I'm proud doesn't quite do it justice. Maybe the feeling is beyond what words can express. In a true sense of feeling like a wildcatter, partnering with Bruce Thompson and T5 Smackover Partners, and working side-by-side with one of my OG friends, Tim Mullen of Incendium Resources LLC, we have completed drilling the inaugural well for each of these companies in Franklin County, Texas.
