Having clinched the Republican nomination in May, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy is poised to become Ohio’s first #billionaire governor if he prevails in his tight race against Democrat Amy Acton. While state financial disclosures offer a limited view of his net worth, recent federal regulatory filings show Ramaswamy is twice as wealthy as when he first declared his candidacy in early 2025, according to a review by The Cincinnati Enquirer, part of the USA TODAY Network. His total holdings are now worth more than $2 billion, records show. Forbes magazine estimates he may now be worth close to $3 billion.

Taco Bell has seen a drop in foot traffic since being linked to the ongoing #cyclosporiasis outbreak, according to new data. According to Placer.ai's data, Taco Bell saw a double-digit percentage decline in foot traffic in the days before it officially pulled lettuce from restaurants. Taco Bell's foot traffic was lower than the average of all other #fastfood restaurants included in Placer.ai's data, such as Chipotle, McDonald's, Subway and Chopt, for the same days.

A new survey reaffirms an old paradox in retirement planning: American workers think they will need more than $1 million in savings to retire in comfort, but it’s a goal most of them don’t expect to meet. Financial firms often poll American workers on the “magic number” of savings to fund a comfortable retirement. The latest survey comes from Schroders, the global asset management company. Retirement savers surveyed this spring told Schroders they think they will need $1.2 million to retire in comfort. Yet half of those surveyed said they expect to retire with less than $500,000 saved. One quarter said they expect to save less than $250,000. Only 30% expect to reach the $1 million milestone. “Participants have that million-dollar goal, but many are on a half-million-dollar savings trajectory,” said Deb Boyden, head of U.S. defined contribution at Schroders. Jersey Mike's Subs edges out the #fastfood favorite in the rankings, but Chick-fil-A Restaurants didn’t slip — the real story shows a shift in consumer expectations. According to the ACSI data, which measures how diners rate major restaurant chains, Chick-fil-A’s score stayed the same as the previous survey, while Jersey Mike’s moved slightly ahead. For customers, the bigger takeaway is that competition in fast food appears to be getting tighter, especially as hungry patrons pay closer attention to freshness, variety and value.
