“I started my journey with Whole Foods Market when I relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, looking for a fresh start with a company I felt personally connected to. I applied for the Prepared Foods Supervisor position, and from the very first interview, I felt a sense of pride and care from the leadership at the store. I was thrilled to join the team in October 2024. With every team member interaction, I felt a sense of community that solidified my decision. My store’s leadership was so supportive and invested in my growth — I became the Associate Team Leader of Prepared Foods after six months and then a year later, the Bakery Team Leader at my store. These opportunities inspired me to become a Culture Champion, which gave me a deeper understanding of our culture and purpose. When I saw the posts about the In the Field trip with Jason in Peru, I instantly knew I had to go for it: I had a personal connection to Peru through my family’s heritage and knew this would be an incredible opportunity to see our values in practice firsthand. My store leadership gave me the support I needed to put together my activation for the trip application. It was hard to tell who was more excited when I was selected — me or everyone else in my store! Attending this trip was the highlight of my career and one of my most meaningful life experiences. We were truly immersed in the culture of the communities we visited, seeing how much this company invests in the biodiverse and culturally rich Peru. We worked and danced side by side with local farmers and witnessed the power of win-win partnerships between Whole Foods Market and our suppliers — SIMPLi and Allegro Coffee Company — to transform lives. One of the more memorable moments was having the privilege to walk on the salt flats passed down within the same families for generations. Being shown how they harvest salt in its most natural form — and knowing these practices will be passed down to the next generations — makes me feel so hopeful and proud. Hopeful that their culture and sustainable practices will continue on. Proud to be Peruvian and to work for Whole Foods Market.” 💚 — Kaitlyn Huaroto, Bakery Team Leader
About us

The result has been the highest quality natural and organic products, an unmatched experience in more than 500+ stores, with a passionate team of over 90,000 team members, 5 percent of our total net profits given back to our communities each year, and millions of customers who put their trust in us every day.

What happens when you bring together incredible food and meaningful conversation? Magic. We recently kicked off our Supper Club Series in Miami with Cherry Bombe — an evening all about celebrating food, community, and well-being. Over a family-style dinner crafted by our own Chef Michael Sabrin, guests enjoyed a menu designed with wellness front and center: animal welfare-rated beef, sustainably caught seafood, adaptogens, functional mushrooms, and gut-friendly dishes that prove eating well can feel effortless. The highlight? A panel conversation moderated by Kerry Diamond (founder of Cherry Bombe) exploring what wellness really means and how it shows up differently for all of us. Advice shared included to prioritize movement, set boundaries and practice a Sunday reset. From the wellness conversation to the DIY Sourced for Good flower bar, this night was a reminder that the best things in life happen around the table. Huge thanks to our incredible panelists: 🌿 Samah Dada — cookbook author, creator of Dada Eats, and champion of making nourishing food joyful 🌿 Kim Perell — entrepreneur, bestselling author, and Co-Founder of Juni Sparkling Adaptogen Drink 🌿 Alexandra Snodgrass — recipe developer, NYT bestselling cookbook author, and founder of The Defined Dish 🌿 Rachel Bukowski, Ph.D. — our very own Whole Foods Market Product Development Lead More Supper Club dinners are coming later this year, stay tuned.

“I remember it was a warmer-than-usual October day in 2001 when I began my Whole Foods Market career as a Customer Service Cashier at the Uptown store in Minneapolis. At the time, I just needed a flexible job to support my acting career, and I was only planning to stay for two years. But that changed as I realized how wonderful and exciting working for Whole Foods Market was. After several other positions, I eventually landed the role of Whole Body Team Leader at our St. Paul store, where I helped grow my team for many years. And when the Store Trainer position opened, there was no question about my next move. I wanted to be that person who connects with every team member at my store. I wanted to share my stories and inspire them to grow, which is why I also became a Culture Champion. That decision led to me getting to go on our recent In the Field with Jason trip to Peru. Besides getting my picture taken dressed as a llama with our CEO, I loved getting to visit a quinoa farm with SIMPLi, the Maras Salt Flats and a Sourced for Good regenerative coffee farm and mill. We listened to inspiring stories from women farmers about their struggles and successes. We made the journey up to Machu Picchu and learned about the Incas and their agricultural advances. And we ate a lot of potatoes! Did you know Peru has over 4,000 different varieties? With every place we visited one thing stood out: how much the Peruvian people respected the earth and how proud they were of the crops they grew. They still pay homage to Pachamama — “Mother Earth” — and out of that respect comes a sense of happiness. They were always dancing and singing, inviting us to join them. I felt a shared community tied together by culture passed down from generation to generation. It reminded me of the responsibility we have as team members to create our own dance-worthy culture and pass it on to the next generation.” 💚 — Renee Hatton, Store Trainer #TeamWFM

"What keeps me at Whole Foods Market is the culture. We care about our people, our communities and how we show up for one another. Values aren't just words here — they're how we work, lead and support each other every day. If you're looking for a place where values truly matter, this is it. I started my Whole Foods journey many years ago with Bread & Circus. I quickly realized this was a different kind of work environment — a place where people genuinely care about what they do and for one another. My first position was in grocery, stocking shelves and merchandising displays, learning the business from the ground up. Store leadership has been one of my favorite roles because it's all about developing people, leading with purpose and creating a store where Team Members love to work and customers love to shop. There's nothing more rewarding than watching someone grow into their potential and knowing you played a part in that. So it comes as no surprise how excited I am to be leading the new store opening in Seekonk, MA! My team and I can't wait to join this community, and we're looking forward to building relationships, supporting our neighbors and becoming a place you'll be proud to shop and work. We can't wait to grow together, Seekonk. Hope to see some of you for the opening on June 25!" 💚 — Rich Toppi, Store Team Leader #TeamWFM

"My dad started in the Bakery department here at Whole Foods Market just under 20 years ago. I always loved that he worked at Whole Foods — when I was younger, I even set up a lemonade stand in front of his store! My dad is now on the Marketing Business Operations team, where he was recently named a Store Support All-Star and nominated to attend the Amazon Leadership Academy for his dedication and hard work. I take great pride in telling people I get to work with my dad — and it makes my day when I see their reaction to learning who he is. I started in my role fresh out of college with no corporate experience, so I had a lot of nerves coming into this new position. It was comforting to know that no matter how silly I thought a question was, I could always go to my dad with anything. I love having him witness firsthand all that I've learned and accomplished, and I love getting to witness his work be appreciated by our Team Members. My dad is patient, thoughtful and intelligent. I am so fortunate to have such a perfect example of how to be a good human. Thank you for giving me the life that I have — I am forever in debt to you. You are loved and admired more than you'll ever know, dad!" — Thea Huff, Event Production Specialist, on her dad, Gregg Huff, Business Operations Manager

"Our dad has been with Whole Foods Market for more than 30 years! He started in the produce department at Fresh Fields, and when they were acquired, he joined the Whole Foods team at the Willowbrook, Illinois location. He worked his way up through various roles, from a Produce Team Member all the way to the Midwest Produce Coordinator. Now, he’s a Produce Inventory Planner based in Austin, Texas. Growing up, he’d bring us into the office on take your child to work day, and we’d get to meet so many genuine people, suppliers and, of course, load up on food from the store. He always talked about his positive experience with the company and culture, which was evident to us with how long he has been here. His experience eventually led us all down our own path with Whole Foods, starting at our local store. The three of us eventually transferred to the flagship Lamar store in Austin, and our dad would come down from the office to grab lunch and say hi. On many days, fellow team members would approach one of us, saying they had just met our dad (he loved talking us up at the registers). Fast forward, and we’re all working together in the Austin Store Support office! While we’ve each ventured out on our own paths in the company, we often get to see each other while at work. And of course, still get asked “are you Jose’s daughter?” For Father’s Day, we want our dad to know that we love him and appreciate all that he’s done for us. We are so proud to be Jose’s daughters. 💚 Sabrina Valadez, Inventory Planner, Perishable Merchandising Mireya Valadez, Senior Team Member Engagement Program Manager, Whole Foods Market Foundation Andrea Valadez, Program Operations Manager, Whole Foods Market Foundation
