We are the Utah Chapter of Women in Localization. Women in Localization was founded in 2008 and is the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry. Its mission is to foster a global community for the advancement of women and the localization industry. Started in the San Francisco Bay Area, Women in Localization is a global organization with chapters throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. We enable women to: Be Innovative: Learn the latest best practices in the industry Women in Localization shares best practices in the industry through its network of localization professionals leading some of the largest localization organizations on both the client and vendor sides of the industry. Through our events, for which speakers are hand-selected based on their knowledge and skills, we promote some of the latest innovations in the localization space. Ortiz is a Senior Localization Project Manager with over 20 years of experience managing global language programs and multilingual content at scale. She currently leads localization initiatives across 130+ languages at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, specializing in strategy around translation quality frameworks, digital content scalability and data-driven localization operations. Gema is an active leader in the industry as Chapter Manager for Women in Localization Utah and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Localization Project Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, making her part of MIIS Mafia.
