Andrew Greenwood reacted on thisAndrew Greenwood reacted on thisOn June 7th I rode my bike the full 72-mile loop around Lake Tahoe as part of America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride, alongside over 2,400 cyclists raising money for Blood Cancer United. The night before, I had the privilege to speak at the rally dinner about why I was riding. My dad and my father-in-law both died from cancer. I have family and friends facing blood cancers right now. Every training ride this spring, and every mile on that lake, I carried their names and their stories with me. This was my first time participating in a Team In Training event. When I set my fundraising goal, I had no idea that so many people would donate and support my efforts in such an amazing way. I was humbled at the generosity and show of support. The ride itself - the view, the technical challenges, the camaraderie - the entire event was just awesome and I loved every minute of it. My family was there, supporting me every step of the way. They saw me off at 6:45am that morning, and were waiting and cheering (with matching t-shirts) as I rode across the finish line. Thank you to everyone who supported me - whether through your most generous donations, personal stories, or words of encouragement - I couldn't have done this without you, and I am forever grateful for your kindness. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Andrew Greenwood reacted on thisAndrew Greenwood reacted on thisI've been quiet here over the past year, and I wanted to share why. In June 2023 my dear mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was a vibrant, energetic, amazing woman, it was unimaginable. And in the ensuing two years, much of my energy was devoted to caregiving. It was a time filled with love, responsibility, and challenges I could never have fully anticipated. While I was incredibly fortunate to be supported by my amazing husband, family, friends, and colleagues, it was still one of the most demanding chapters of my life. When that chapter came to an end, I realized I needed time - not to do more, but to restore. To rest. To reconnect with myself and rediscover my energy. One of my greatest lessons from this experience is that everyone is navigating something. Often, we only see the polished surface of each other's lives while significant stories unfold behind the scenes. I've learned that sharing some of what's really happening creates space for others to do the same. And that kind of openness, connection, and support can make all the difference during difficult times. Today, I'm grateful. Grateful for the people who carried me when I needed it, grateful for the lessons learned, and grateful to be moving forward with renewed energy and purpose.
