Realta Fusion chooses $55m and Wisconsin.
After a near two-year search across Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico and Tennessee, Realta Fusion has picked the home for its next headquarters and R&D facility. "We found it in our own backyard," said CEO and Co-Founder
Kieran Furlong.
The Madison, Wisconsin facility, on the former Oscar Mayer plant site, will be called "The Realta Forge." The target is 600+ jobs and groundbreaking before year-end.
Wisconsin Act 165, the first standalone US state law exempting fusion project capex from state sales tax underpins the prize:
→ $37.5m in state sales and use tax exemptions
→ Up to $15m in performance-based EZ tax credits (WEDC)
→ $2.8m in TIF from Madison, its first to a private company for job creation in a decade
