You also need to know what agents exist, what tools they can use, where they run, and what credentials or memory they can touch. But the important part is seeing that next to the rest of the identity picture. An agent on its own is interesting. An agent next to the users, workspaces, API keys, invites, tool permissions, MCP servers, runtime environment, credential vault metadata, and memory stores around it is actionable. That is the view YeshID gives teams across Anthropic. For prompts, we track presence, length, and hash so teams can detect changes without storing the prompt text. You should not need one tool for users, another for keys, and another for agents. Fragmented identity data creates fragmented security decisions.

Dana Wolf shared thisI was talking to my 22-year-old niece about resilience the other day, and it made me realize something: I don’t think I understood what resilience actually was when I was younger. My 7-year-old comes home every day with a story — a bump, a bruise, something that felt like the biggest deal in the world. I used to do the same thing. Then you’re a teenager, and everything still feels intense. Different problems, same energy. And then you enter the real world. No one is managing your life anymore. You have to show up, carry your weight, pay your bills. No one is doing that for you. That’s where something starts to change. Looking back, that’s when resilience actually gets built. Not from big moments. From realizing you don’t get to stop. You adjust. You keep going. And then you become a founder. Nothing has stretched me like this. There are moments where it feels like you’re right at the edge — like you genuinely don’t know how much more you can take. And then something kicks in. I don’t know if it’s grit or resilience, but it’s there. Right when it feels like too much — you absorb it, recover, and keep executing. That’s the part no one really explains. Resilience isn’t about avoiding hard things. It’s about what happens when you hit them. When you’re tired, frustrated, unsure — and you move forward anyway. What I’ve realized is simple: I keep pushing. Even when it’s hard. And over time, that compounds into something powerful. Resilience isn’t loud. It’s not perfect. It’s just the ability to take the hit, recover, and keep going.

Dana Wolf posted thisMy current leadership coach is Victor Wembanyama, and he has no idea. He's also 22 years old. I've gotten a little obsessed with watching the Spurs. Don't ask me to justify it. I just am. Last night they beat OKC, one of the best teams in the league. After the game, Wembanyama said this: "This game is so hard, this team is so good, that you gotta use every single emotion you got in you in order to win. Sometimes these emotions are passion. It's love for the game. Sometimes it's anger. Sometimes it might even be jealousy. But I don't wanna weigh myself down with any of these energies. I use them on the court." Jealousy turned into power. Fear turned into strength. Confusion turned into determination. It landed harder than I expected, because of where I am as a founder. I carry this idea that I'm supposed to operate from strength at all times. Calm, certain, steady. And the truth is I do have strong emotions, and *some* of them are not the pretty ones. Fear. Frustration. The occasional flash of jealousy when I see someone else's announcement. For a long time I treated those as things to hide or fix. What he's describing is different. He's not pretending the negative emotions aren't there. He's putting them to work. "I found resources inside of me. Relentlessness." I don't have to come from a place of strength all the time. I have to take what I've actually got, including the ugly parts, and use it on the court.

Dana Wolf shared thisThe identity market is doing the thing every market does right before it gets messy: it's splitting itself into neat little boxes. Human IAM over here. Non-human identity over there. Then secrets, OAuth, SSPM, data access. And two shiny new boxes labeled AI governance and agent security. Eight categories. Eight vendors. Eight consoles. Eight budget lines. It looks like progress. It's the opposite. Agents don't respect any of those product boundaries. One workflow runs human to agent to service account to OAuth grant to SaaS app to regulated data to an external action, and it does the whole thing in seconds. So which dashboard answers the only question that matters? Was that action allowed, safe, attributable, and within mandate? You can't answer one question with eight consoles. One question needs one brain. And the part that should actually keep a CISO up isn't on the finance sheet. It's the morning an agent does something it shouldn't, the board asks what happened, and not one of those eight tools can answer for it. So the real question was never how many tools you can afford. It's who has the nerve to disrupt their own point-solution sprawl before it disrupts them.

Dana Wolf reacted on thisDana Wolf reacted on thisI am beyond excited to share the news of Common Room + Sendoso. This one's close to home for me. Not just because I'm genuinely passionate about ABM, the art and the practice of it, but because I love gifting, sending something creative, fun, and meaningful is one of my favorite parts of this job. And what we've unleashed by connecting Sendoso and Common Room together is, honestly, incredible. Kris Rudeegraap and I have been partnering and advising each other since the early days, back when the big shift was moving away from one-by-one physical gift orders to something you could actually send one-to-many, even if that something was just a simple coffee gift card. A lot has changed since then. We still send coffee sometimes, but gifting stopped being a random gift card a long time ago. It's gotten more personalized, more intentional, and today it got a lot smarter. Common Room's MCP and Sendoso's MCP started talking to each other directly, no dashboard, no CSV, no separate login just to ship a gift. Our two AI layers are now, officially, best friends. Huge thank you to Jared Wexler for helping me beep boop this into existence. And to Max Child, our partner manager at Sendoso, who's the kind of partner every company wishes they had. Excited for everything we're building together. Kris, we've come a long way from coffee to actual ABM infrastructure. Dana Wolf liked thisDana Wolf liked thisToday closes my third chapter at Cisco—12 years with the company across three separate periods—and begins a new one. Cisco has been a defining part of my career. Across those three chapters, I built and led operations for cloud security, network security, and, most recently, Cisco Foundation AI. This latest chapter was especially meaningful because I had the opportunity to work with an exceptional team at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise execution. I am deeply grateful to the leaders who invested in me, challenged me, and helped me grow along the way. Brian Roddy gave me one of my earliest opportunities to lead operations at Cisco. Jeff Reed and Gee Rittenhouse expanded my scope and shaped how I think about operating security businesses at scale. Rao Surapaneni continued that development during my time at ServiceNow. In this third chapter, Shailaja K. Shankar and Yaron Singer trusted me to help build the operating model for Cisco Foundation AI. Today is also my first day as Vice President of Operations at a venture-backed technology startup currently in stealth. I am excited to return to my startup roots and help build the company's operating foundation from the ground up. There is not much I can share yet about the company or what we are building. Over time, I plan to share parts of the operating journey: how to create structure without bureaucracy, move quickly without losing discipline, and rethink how an AI-era company can operate. To my Cisco colleagues, past and present: thank you. I hope our paths cross again.

I got the first physical copies last week and it is cool to hold it in my hands for the first time. Six years ago I was running on fumes. I was successful and miserable. I didn't know how to maintain high performance without blowing up my mental and physical health. I went back to school and started practicing what I learned, while working in the complex and uncertain world of cybersecurity. I worked with over 750 people in the last four years on these concepts. You will read some of their stories. Amazing people doing cool things. Successful in all external measures, but missing something. Sometimes it shows up as "is this all there is?" Sometimes it shows up as "feel tired most of the time." Sometimes it shows up as "distractions rule my day." The book combines neuroscience, sports science, and my lived experience as a C-level executive. Forty studies back it up, but stories lead the way. It is practical and welcoming for anyone working under stress and complexity. My goal is to transform how we work. My goal is to help leaders get their energy, motivation, and joy back. I was able to transfer in two courses, putting me about 13% of the way through the program before even starting. There's still a long road ahead, and I'm fully expecting a few years of even less of a social life, but this is a personal goal I've wanted to achieve for a long time. I'm excited for the challenge and looking forward to the day I can officially add "Dr." to my name. Here's to the next chapter!

Dana Wolf liked thisDana Wolf liked thisII'M GONNA SAY SOME THINGS... About AI and the new Build vs. Buy conversation. I see a lot of emerging technology in the IT and cybersecurity world. Nearly everything is "AI-powered" now. It almost has to be to stay relevant. But AI has fundamentally changed one of the oldest technology decisions we make: build or buy? Historically, a startup with a genuinely innovative idea could build a product, land a handful of customers, and grow from there. Today, many of those same customers can spin up AI agents, connect existing services, and build a version of that capability themselves—often in hours or days. Every company is rapidly becoming a software company. At first glance, that sounds like an easy win. No licensing fees. Built specifically for your environment. Full control. But is it really cheaper? The cost doesn't disappear. It shifts. Now you're paying for AI consumption, models, orchestration, observability, prompt management, integrations, and the engineers who know how to keep it all running. You're creating an AI ecosystem that has to be secured, governed, monitored, and continuously improved. And that's before you tackle: - Non-human identities and agentic IAM - AI governance, GRC, and privacy - Data lineage in an environment where data is constantly being created, transformed, and reused. Data is a dynamic asset, not a static one. And most organization's risk management models still treat it as a static asset to govern. - Long-term support for a custom AI ecosystem that only your organization understands AI can absolutely build an MVP in minutes. Sometimes that's exactly what you need. For most organizations their complexity outpaced their capability (and certainly their efficiency) long ago. But dozens—or hundreds—of interconnected MVPs eventually become a production ecosystem. And now you're responsible for operating, securing, and evolving it. That's a very different conversation than "AI lets us build it ourselves." Make no mistake—we're in a new paradigm. The winners won't be the organizations that build everything or buy everything. They'll be the ones with the discipline to know what should be built, what should be bought, and what shouldn't exist at all. There's a solution provider sell-side equation too....Time has collapsed from going from Stealth to sell, and the buying criteria has shifted dramatically. The prospect customer build it ourselves dynamic simply never existed like this at scale. So what makes future winners won't be what made prior winners. More on that in another post! A proprietary algorithm curated these news items, so users can focus more on what they need to get done, instead of spending a huge chunk of time trying to sort through the noise of the social web to find the infosec gems underneath. Stories were color coded to indicate how big the stories are, with red being the hottest, down through amber and yellow. The algorithm also consumed feedback from the users who could rate them and curate the stories into similar topics and levels of importance.
