While working on the unicorn analysis at weXelerate, a few patterns stood out to me: ~192 new unicorns identified overall in 2025 ~60% originate in the United States, which remains the dominant ecosystem • China (~8%) is clearly gaining momentum • Europe accounts for 25 new unicorns (~13%) → 9 of them are AI-related • Israel produced 4 unicorns, remarkable given the country’s size • Singapore (~3%) continues to punch above its weight and shows what an incredible innovation ecosystem they have What stood out most across regions: - Around 50% of new unicorns operate in the AI infrastructure space. This can be read in two ways: – AI is becoming foundational infrastructure across industries – or capital is increasingly concentrated around a single dominant narrative (bubble?) Either way, unicorns are less about success stories and more about signals of where future value creation is expected.
