Memorial Day Weekend marks the launch of Old York Cellars’ new “MIDFIELD” campaign, positioning the winery and NJ Wine Country as the gathering place between New York City and Philadelphia during one of the biggest tourism and cultural moments in the region’s history. Located on historic Old York Road in Ringoes, Hunterdon County, NJ, Old York Cellars sits along one of the original colonial routes connecting the two cities more than 250 years ago. David Wolin shared thisWhat if a winery membership was built around real choice instead of obligation? The traditional winery club model hasn’t changed much in decades, even though consumers have. Younger wine drinkers don’t think about memberships the same way previous generations did. Many don’t want automatic shipments piling up in their homes. They want flexibility, ex[erience, variety and the ability to engage with a winery in ways that fit their lifestyle. So over the past year, we started asking a simple question: Why should a winery club only work one way? That question led us at Old York Cellars to completely rethink our Vintner’s Club from the ground up. Instead of building a membership around mandatory bottle pickups, we created one centered on flexibility and choice. Members can use their benefits in ways that match how they actually enjoy Old York Cellars, whether that’s bottles to take home, wine cocktails with friends, brunch, cabanas, gift experiences, tastings, or discovering something new every visit. For more than a decade, the Old York Cellars Vintner’s Club has been the foundation of the winery. It helped build our community, fueled our growth, and connected us with thousands of people who chose to support local wine long before it was trendy to do so. This wasn’t about abandoning what worked. It was about evolving it for the next generation of winery guests. The next generation of wine consumers expects wineries to be more flexible, experiential, and lifestyle-driven than ever before. Innovation in wine isn’t only about what’s in the glass.
