"As a regulator, it is my role to encourage innovation in a responsible manner, and we must continuously improve our ability to supervise the risks to safety and soundness that innovation presents," Bowman said.

🚀 Meet PACT, simplifying SBA-backed acquisitions with investors. Think YC’s SAFE, but built for Main Street M&A. 📘 What is PACT and why we built it PACT (Partnership Acquisition Commonsense Terms) is a free, balanced starting point for the agreements used in SBA-backed acquisitions with outside investors. For too long, SBA-backed acquisitions with outside investors have been the wild west: every deal is different, inefficient, and confusing, especially for first-time searchers raising capital. PACT gives everyone a common baseline so reviews are faster, expectations are clear, and operators can focus on acquiring the business. 🧩 SAFE for ETA Y Combinator’s SAFE gave startups a shared template that made early investing easier to execute. PACT brings that same idea to ETA. It teaches the key concepts in plain English, aligns searchers and investors on the economics, and sets a fair place to start. There are a lot of faster payments conversations in my day-to-day work. And whether it’s real-time ones like FedNow, or stablecoins, or even existing rails like same-day ACH, the number one question I hear from most banks is “what use case is driving the need for this?” Most have not seen it themselves, nor heard it yet from their customers. And without an anticipatory or future-leaning culture, it will take clear demand to spur action and adoption. The single best use case I’ve seen so far is what I’ll call “faster payments to close the sale.” If banks can enable their customers to close more sales with that lever, then they will value it, use it and appreciate it. I’ve seen a few scenarios in business to business and business to consumer commerce where the deal will get done or an offer of a faster payment can help someone stand out or differentiate. My advice is to pay enough attention to identify those opportunities - they will be the early ones that drive momentum toward most payments in the future being faster. And I’m always happy to discuss and debate this topic as well!

DTCC, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, is core market infrastructure for the global financial system. Its job is to reduce risk, increase efficiency, and ensure stability across securities markets. DTCC’s December 17, 2025, partnership with Digital Asset to tokenize a subset of DTC-custodied U.S. Treasury securities on the Canton Network represents a pivotal institutional milestone in integrating blockchain into regulated financial markets. As the central infrastructure clearing and settling the overwhelming majority of U.S. securities transactions processing quadrillions annually—DTCC’s move underscores growing confidence in privacy-enabled, permissioned blockchains to perform reliably at scale, under regulatory supervision, and within existing legal frameworks. Bolstered by a recent SEC no-action letter granting relief for a pilot tokenization service, the initiative signals regulators’ readiness to support such innovations when robust governance, controls, and investor protections are in place. Canton’s architecture uniquely resolves longstanding institutional hurdles by delivering granular privacy controls alongside seamless interoperability and atomic settlement features essential for systemically critical assets like U.S. Treasuries, which anchor global liquidity, collateral chains, and monetary policy. Complementary ecosystem integrations, such as TRM Labs’ embedded risk management and compliance tools, highlight that on-chain risks must be proactively addressed at the infrastructure level rather than retrofitted. Collectively, this development targeting an MVP in a controlled environment in H1 2026, with broader rollout planned indicates tokenization is transitioning from experimental pilots to core market infrastructure implementation. Put it simply, we may be witnessing the beginning of the tokenization of everything!
