The guidance emphasizes avoiding link clicks, verifying message origin, and using official verification tools before sharing content. This advisory reflects a focus on the information layer rather than network disruption. Impersonation at scale affects public trust, increases verification burdens, and compresses response timelines for institutions responsible for crisis communication. For security leaders, the operational consideration is message authentication and rapid public clarification capacity.
