Turns out they were leading with product demos instead of business outcomes. Here’s the problem I found: ❌ Reps jump straight to “let me show you everything our platform can do” ❌ Zero connection between features and the business problems they solve 🤦♂️ Prospects respond with “nice, reconnect in 2026” The Better Approach: ✅ Discovery first: What specific business outcomes are you trying to achieve? ✅ Match demos to discovered problems: Only show features tied to their pain points ✅ Think quick tour: 6 stops available, but only deep-dive on the 3 that matter to them Not all hope was lost though. One rep told me he has a “choose your own adventure” approach. He presents 3 core use cases and lets prospects pick their path. When I analyzed his call recordings, I noticed they resulted in higher engagement because prospects see themselves in the story. So we used that example to shift the rest of the team from: ❌ “Here are all our features” to ✅ “Based on what you told me about [specific challenge], here’s how we solve that” Your demo should feel like a custom solution presentation, not a feature walkthrough. When prospects can connect your capabilities to their quarterly deliverables, you become a hero instead of a vendor. What’s your experience? Are your demos driving business conversations or feature discussions? Be honest. 😃

Your SDR team can't scale outbound because personalization breaks at volume. Writing custom emails for 200 prospects weekly is humanly impossible. So reps make a choice: send generic blasts that get 2% response rates, or cherry-pick 30 high-value accounts and leave pipeline on the table. Both options lose.
