When it comes to launch velocity, SpaceX isn’t a player…they’re running the game. New Charts & Crafts video today on their dominant year. By early December 2025, SpaceX has flown ~160 orbital missions. That’s ~90% of all U.S. launches this year and more than half of every orbital attempt on Earth. One company now launches rockets at roughly the same cadence as the entire rest of the world combined. But this isn’t just a launch story. It’s an economics story. Behind the rockets sits Starlink — a telecom business that’s grown from a $200M side project in 2020 to an estimated $10B revenue line in 2025, with a constellation that’s expanded from a few dozen satellites to roughly 8,000 in orbit today. Together they create a flywheel: Cheap, frequent reusable launches —> enable rapid satellite deployment and upgrades —> create a better network and more customers —> which generate billions in revenue —> which fund more R&D, Starship development, and even cheaper launches. Starlink feeds the rockets. The rockets feed Starlink. Together, that lead is compounding. Curious to see how this looks once Starship hits regular cadence in 2026. Secretary Hegseth's acquisition transformation marks a turning point for defense innovation, and it couldn't come at a more critical time. The Pentagon is finally prioritizing speed, accountability, and commercial adoption over bureaucratic inertia. These are the structural changes necessary to reinvigorate the defense industrial base, ensuring we can fight and win a war in the 21st century. The barrier all industries suffer from is not innovation, but rather implementation and integration at scale. At Red Cell Partners, we've built our portfolio to break down that barrier and have the forward-thinking partners, like the US Navy, that understand that the only way to unlock the value of AI is through scaled adoption - and that is true for hardware too; just look at Epirus, which has always focused on fielding its capabilities as quickly as possible, because in their case, fast implementation literally saves lives. The companies that will define the next era of national security will be those that find a way to focus on adoption being better, faster, and cheaper. We have an adversary focused every day on deploying enormous technological, financial, and clandestine resources to deter our way of life and the ideas and ideals that we in the West have come to depend on. #defense #ai #nationalsecurity #innovation
