My favorite character this season is Toph Beifong. Toph is an earthbender who is blind. She can’t see the world. She senses it through vibrations beneath her feet. She doesn’t rely on eyesight. She relies on awareness. That reminded me of leaders in large organizations. They don’t always have perfect visibility. They can’t possibly know everything that’s happening. But they sense the vibrations. Shifts in customer behavior, changes in employee morale, emerging conflicts, unspoken concerns, and subtle market signals. Then they act. Leadership isn’t always about seeing more. Sometimes it’s about sensing better. #Leadership #Management #HR #AvatarTheLastAirbender #Netflix

It was a short journey, but one I’ll always be grateful for. I wanted to experience the mix of startup agility and big-company engineering, and Instacart delivered exactly that. I also got to experience a remote-first culture for the first time, and it completely changed my perspective on how effective, collaborative, and connected remote teams can be. A special thank you to my manager(Prakash Reddy Putta ) for the trust, guidance, and support throughout my time here. I’m also grateful to my recruiter(Mary Huang ) for making this transition from Amazon so smooth and for believing in me from the very beginning. If anyone asks me whether I’d recommend Instacart, my answer is an easy yes. It’s a great place to learn, grow, and take ownership while working with exceptional people. As I begin my next chapter, I leave with gratitude, great memories, and many valuable lessons. Thank you, Instacart! 💚🚀

I assumed the quiet stuff would arrive on its own. It never did. (Credit to Colby Kultgen for this brilliant list.) Look closely, almost nothing here can be bought. You can't purchase a clear conscience, or quiet neighbors, or a weekend that actually feels like yours. What you can do is choose them. Slowly. Deliberately. Usually against the pull of something louder. Here's the part people miss: the louder pull always feels more urgent. The email, the extra hour, the thing that can't wait. So the quiet luxuries lose by default because you never scheduled them in. The fix isn't working harder. It's deciding, on purpose, what gets protected. You drink the coffee slowly because you protected the morning. You say "no" without guilt because you decided your time was already spoken for. None of that is luck. It's design. It's not your fault the world taught you to chase the rewards that fade. But it is your responsibility to start building the ones that last. You deserve that. Pick one item here. Decide what you'd have to protect to make it real. Then defend it this week. Yelp is a special place, made even more special by the people. I'll miss them dearly. That's it. That's the tweet. ❤️🥹🙏

Seniors are 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 of code. Staff Engineers are 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 of people. ➜ The Mindset Shift: • Seniors focus on "How do I fix this bug?" • Staff focus on "What systemic flaw allowed this bug to exist?" • Seniors write the best PRs. • Staff create the automation that makes PRs unnecessary. • Seniors win technical debates. • Staff build technical consensus. ➜ In Interviews: Stop talking about your code. You don’t have to be a Hollywood star to relate: if you’re a woman in or approaching menopause, there might be some fear, shame, and anxiety surrounding it, naturally! But Naomi Watts is right. All women *will* get there so we need to put the topic on the table sooner rather than later. It’s conversations like these that are going to shift the entire culture around menopause and help society approach it with more understanding and empathy. Keep it up. Others 👏 are 👏 listening. 🎥 The Hollywood Reporter

Focus on what you can control. Accept what you cannot. Reframe difficult situations. These weren't just philosophical ideas. They were practices that changed how the brain responds to stress. Modern neuroscience now validates what Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus knew intuitively. When you practice Stoic principles, your brain responds in measurable ways: 🧠 The amygdala regulates its threat perception 🧠 Your nervous system shifts from sympathetic (survival mode) to parasympathetic (rest and digest) 🧠 Neural pathways rewire through cognitive reframing This is neuroplasticity in action. The ancient Stoics didn't have fMRI scans or EEG data. But they observed human behavior closely. They tested practices on themselves. They refined what worked. Here's what they discovered: Your brain doesn't distinguish between real threats and perceived ones. When you choose to accept what you cannot change, you're not being passive. You're actively regulating your nervous system. When you reframe a setback as a learning opportunity, you're not being naive. You're creating new neural connections that strengthen emotional resilience. The wisdom was always there. Science is just catching up. 👉 What Stoic practice has helped you manage stress or difficult situations?
