Casey York posted thisSelling a home after 20+ years requires more than pricing and paperwork. It requires strategy, patience, and the right guidance. I recently helped a Houston seller navigate the sale of a home they had owned for more than two decades. Like many longtime homeowners, this was more than a transaction. There were emotional decisions, timing concerns, and important next steps to work through before they could confidently move forward. One of the biggest challenges was pricing. The home was located in an area where many recent sales were investor-driven, which made the comps harder to interpret. On paper, the numbers did not tell the full story. Early in the process, we tested the market at a higher price point, but after limited traffic and buyer activity, the market gave us clear feedback. So we adjusted with strategy, not panic. We repositioned the home to better align with buyer demand, increase visibility, and create stronger interest. The result: an offer $20,000 above our latest asking price and roughly $10,000 away from my projected max value. The lesson for sellers is simple: The market will speak, but your strategy determines how you respond. Selling is not just about listing a property. It is about understanding the market, reading buyer behavior, protecting your equity, and making informed decisions at every stage. If you are thinking about selling your Houston home, especially one you have owned for years, let’s build the right strategy before you go to market.

Casey York reposted thisCasey York reposted thisBlueprints have always been the standard, but technology is changing the way we design and build. I recently had the opportunity to attend the Southeast Texas Builders Association’s general meeting hosted at Walkthrough in Beaumont, where builders, architects, designers, and industry professionals got a firsthand look at an incredible new tool for the construction industry. Instead of relying solely on architectural drawings, Walkthrough allows you to experience your home’s floor plan at full scale before construction even begins. It’s an innovative way to visualize spaces, improve communication, and make design decisions with confidence before breaking ground. As someone passionate about land development and home building, I love seeing innovation like this come to Southeast Texas. Thank you to the Southeast Texas Builders Association for bringing our industry together and creating opportunities to learn about new technologies that can benefit both builders and homeowners. If you’re planning to build a custom home or develop a project, this is definitely worth checking out. Have you ever wished you could walk through your home before it was built? #setxbuilders #beaumont #homebuilding #realestate #fyp

Casey York reposted thisCasey York reposted thisAfter four incredible years, my time at DISCO is coming to an end. DISCO was my first job out of college, and it’s where I learned what it means to be a professional, how to build relationships, navigate challenges, and grow throughout my career. When I joined in June 2022, I knew very little about legal technology and eDiscovery. Over the last four years, I had the opportunity to learn from incredible leaders, work alongside talented teammates, and develop skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I want to thank Grant Wilburn , Shane Balas , Curtis Sicks , Robert Eshareturi , John Mueller , Henry Long , Samuel Mcwright, Hollie Salinas, & Trip Conroy for the guidance, support, and opportunities throughout my journey. Each of you played a role in my development, and I am grateful for everything you poured into me. I’m grateful for the opportunity to relocate to Las Vegas, pursue my boxing career under Jeff Mayweather and The Money Team, and for the support I received during one of the most difficult times in my life as my mother battled—and ultimately beat—cancer. Those experiences meant more to me than words can express. One of my favorite memories was earning the opportunity to represent the SDR organization at Legalweek, where I attended my first client meetings alongside Clay Dawson, MBA, CEDS and Michael Hnatowski. As I close this chapter, I’m proud of what we accomplished together. During my tenure, I was fortunate to finish among the top-performing SDRs in company history, including: • #1 All-Time in Closed-Won Opportunities (75+) • #1 All-Time in Calls Generated (57,000+) • #1 All-Time in Connections (8,800+) • #1 All-Time in Meetings Generated (1,400+) • #1 All-Time in Qualified Opportunities Generated (1,000+) • $2M+ Influenced Revenue across AMLaw and law firm accounts • Consistent top attainment across multiple compensation plans and fiscal years Most importantly, I’m leaving with lifelong relationships, unforgettable memories, and tremendous gratitude. To every SDR, AE, manager, sales leader, and teammate I’ve had the privilege of working with—thank you. Thank you, DISCO , for giving a kid fresh out of college an opportunity. On to the next chapter.

Casey York reposted thisCasey York reposted thisI’ve watched the crash courses, read the articles, taken a lot of notes, and put myself in rooms to learn from others. Now it’s time to show what that actually looks like in practice. As part of my training with Springboard, I recently completed a vulnerability assessment project where I worked through the phases of a simulated penetration testing engagement. This included: • Reconnaissance using OSINT techniques • Network scanning and service enumeration • Identifying vulnerabilities using tools like Nmap, Nessus, and OpenVAS • Analyzing risk using CVSS scoring • Recommending remediation strategies Through this process, I identified high-risk scenarios such as unpatched remote access services, web application vulnerabilities, and cloud misconfigurations. Which could have real business impact if left unaddressed. What stood out most to me wasn’t just the tools, but how quickly small misconfigurations can turn into larger security risks. This project helped me better understand how vulnerability management and threat analysis actually work in practice, and how to think through security from both a technical and business perspective. Check out my capstone project on the 'Project' section of my profile! #Cybersecurity #SecurityPlus #EntryLevelIT #VulnerabilityManagement #LearningInPublic

Casey York reposted thisCasey York reposted thisWhile studying for my CompTIA Security+, I realized something early on: Passing wasn’t just about how much I studied—it was about how I approached learning. So I built a simple workflow: 1. Learn Start with videos or notes to understand the concept. 2. Apply Use practice questions and PBQs to test my understanding. 3. Reflect Review why I got things wrong and track patterns in my mistakes. I also used AI to reinforce my learning—explaining concepts in my own words and using it to challenge my thinking when needed. For example, when learning about access control, I’d break it down in my own words: “Authentication verifies who you are, authorization determines what you can access, and accounting tracks what you did.” Then I’d use AI to check my understanding, ask follow-up questions, and point out anything I was missing. That process helped me move from memorizing content to actually thinking through problems. I'm curious to know, how do you approach learning or studying in this field?

Casey York liked thisCasey York liked thisI've made almost $140 million in the NFL. Instead of paying people to manage it, I went back to school. In the offseason, while other guys are training or resting, I take finance classes at Clemson. A 13-year vet sitting in a college classroom, learning how money actually works. Early in my career, it didn't dawn on me that you have to educate yourself before you hand your money to someone else. I watched teammates make fortunes and lose them because they trusted the wrong people and never learned the game. I didn't want to be one of them. So now I do the work myself. I read the deals. I ask the questions that make me look like I don't know anything, because that's how you actually learn. I'd rather understand every company I'm in than trust that somebody else does. This isn't only about sports. Anybody who earns money eventually decides whether to understand it or hand it off and hope. I chose to understand it. That's the work that turns an athlete who invests into a real one, and it's how I'll build my own fund.

Casey York liked thisCasey York liked thisI can officially add "Author" to my bio now. 😤📚 It took a lot of trial and error, plenty of lessons learned the hard way, and more than 100 lot closings to put this workbook together—with a lot more resources on the way. From sourcing off-market individual lots to working on multi-million-dollar land deals of 100+ acres, land has been my niche for the past five years. Everything in this workbook comes from real experience, not just theory. Over the next year, we'll be releasing more practical workbooks, templates, and resources to help you avoid the mistakes I made and shorten your learning curve. And if you have land, let's talk. If you're looking for land, let's talk. Happy Sunday, and God bless! 🙏 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33 Please support by liking, commenting or simply resharing to your network. Dallas-Fort Worth tops the 2026 Emerging Trends in Real Estate report for the second year running, leading both commercial and homebuilding investment prospects. Its sector diversity, affordability, and business-friendly climate continue to attract strong investor interest. With over 100 HQ relocations since 2018 and the upcoming Texas Stock Exchange, D-FW is now the nation’s second-largest financial market.
