CONTD. I analyzed 2,250+ job postings for Data Analyst roles to help you (and myself) focus on the skills that will actually get you hired. After cleaning the data in Python, I created visualizations to answer: which skills actually matter at each career stage? Key findings: 🔹 Python & Tableau requirements increase ~3x from entry-level to senior roles 🔹 Excel requirements decline as you move into senior roles 🔹 Machine Learning appears MORE in entry-level postings than senior roles in this dataset. This could be due to the smaller sample of entry-level jobs (110 vs 1,638 mid-level), but likely also reflects ML being used as a recruiting buzzword 🔹 California dominates with 29% of all DA jobs, followed by Texas and New York 🔹 Average salary jumps 19% from entry to senior My takeaway: Master SQL + Excel first, then invest in Python and Tableau as you progress. However, if you are planning to learn only one data visualization tool, Tableau is the most versatile.
