Will Barfield shared thisHey Network! Amy Barfield and I are excited to tell everyone about another small business owner who we've known for many years, Jamie Rose Ousterout of Stabilimenta! In a recent conversation with Jamie, I learned that for a lot of small and mid-sized creative organizations, the quality of the work can easily outpace the quality of the operations behind it. Founders are exceptional at their craft, but the underlying structures — brand strategy, strategic planning, governance, employee and client experience, etc. — often get built reactively. That gap ultimately limits both efficiency and growth. Jamie founded Stabilimenta back in 2018 to help address and close that gap. Her company's name actually comes from the decorative web patterns that certain spiders weave to help their webs survive interactions with predators, winds from storms, and more — a fitting metaphor for what Stabilimenta does for its clients. What sets Jamie apart as a consultant is that she doesn’t just preach this stuff from the consulting sidelines. From 2020 to 2024, she paused her own firm to join The Diversity Movement as Chief Experience Officer, which is where I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie. She recently returned to Stabilimenta, bringing that invaluable operator's perspective and experience to her own firm. The weather was great, the food and beverage were amazing, and the networking and conversations were outstanding. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and to encounter so many new ones as well. Will Barfield shared thisHello Network! It's college graduation season, so I wanted to post about my friend, Rob Noonan, and his recent grad employment assistance offering... We all know how much students and their families invest in a college education. Time, energy, sacrifice, and a significant amount of money. Then, when it comes to the post-graduation job search, most degree recipients find themselves in a challenging and rather daunting dynamic. What's the best way to build and market a resume? How does one best utilize – and maximize – the career resource that is LinkedIn? Is it possible to get noticed when applying to jobs online? Even the most successful students can struggle to secure interviews, and qualified candidates often don’t understand how to distinguish themselves from the mass of other applicants. These things don't happen because recent grads aren’t completely capable. They happen because no one has yet shown them how the process of landing a job actually works in 2026. That’s what I appreciate about what my colleague Rob is doing with #FirstActAdvising. This annual leadership fundraising challenge brings together Triangle executives who (virtually) step into the ring to raise critical support for Haven House’s Second Round program, a free after-school boxing and fitness-based intervention program for youth ages 12 to 21 in Wake County. This year’s challenge will be led by our 2026 co-chairs, Abha Bowers and Justin Parker, whose leadership is helping rally even more executives around this cause. We’re also grateful for the commitment of Nicole Kalafut and Sheri Hagerty, who have participated in the challenge every year since it began three years ago. Their continued involvement speaks to the impact of this program and the power of business leaders showing up for young people in our community.
