Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit

The Department of Health Sciences ( DHS ) is a department in the UNC School of Medicine, part of the Health Affairs division of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Chair of DHS also serves as an Associate Dean of the Medical School. Each of the seven divisions in this department has a Division Director with administrative responsibility for all aspects of that division’s operation. In addition to the Chair/Associate Dean, the department’s administration includes an Associate Chair for Research, Associate Chair for Student Services, Development Director, and Director for Communications, Associate Chair for Academics, and Associate Chair for Administration. The DHS includes eight professional divisions: Clinical Laboratory Sciences; Occupational Therapy and Occupational Sciences; Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Sciences; Physical Therapy; Radiologic Sciences; Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling; Physician’s Assistant Program, and Speech and Hearing Sciences.

Position Summary

The Clinical Education Coordinator provides administrative, compliance, and operational support for clinical education experiences across multiple academic programs within the Department of Health Sciences. Working collaboratively with another Clinical Education support professional, this position coordinates student placements, maintains clinical education records and compliance requirements, supports accreditation and reporting activities, and assists students, faculty, and clinical partners in ensuring successful and compliant clinical learning experiences. The position also provides administrative support for recruitment, events, and departmental operations.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Management Preferences

Preferred knowledge within any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) field or reading clinical education records such as Immunizations, etc. Familiarity with HIPPA , OSHA , and other clinical requirements to work in healthcare.
