Key Responsibilities

• Execute synthetic organic chemistry experiments to prepare peptide and small molecule compounds.
• Perform solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) using manual and automated peptide synthesizers.
• Conduct multi-step organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and route scouting.
• Purify compounds using flash chromatography, HPLC, and related purification techniques.
• Characterize compounds using LC-MS, HPLC, and other analytical methods.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and experimental records.
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and optimize reaction conditions.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary discovery scientists to support ongoing research programs.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• No PhD candidates, please.
• Strong hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
• Experience with peptide synthesis, preferably solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS).
• Experience performing reaction setup, purification, and analytical characterization.
• Familiarity with techniques including:
• LC-MS
• HPLC
• Flash chromatography
• Multi-step organic synthesis
• Industry experience or extensive academic laboratory research is acceptable.
• Strong laboratory organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating automated peptide synthesizers.
• Knowledge of Fmoc chemistry.
• Experience with solution-phase synthesis.
• Exposure to drug discovery or discovery chemistry environments.
• Experience with peptide libraries, SAR support, bioconjugation, or parallel synthesis.
