Data Center & Cloud Services Co-Op

Job Description

Primary Purpose of Position:

Assist with day-to-day operations and with project-related responsibilities in support of the Data Center & Cloud Services and Information Security departments at BXP. The position will partner with a team of highly experienced System Engineers to support, maintain, and implement technologies critical to business operations including but not limited to Active Directory management, Role-Based Access Control, data interoperability, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint security monitoring.

Essential Functions:

Data Center Engineering/Administration Support

• Collaborate on project level tasks, research solutions, and provide progress updates to management.
• Participate with investigations of active and potential outages within the environment.
• Assist in the development of company-wide enterprise information security, data center, and cloud platform best practices.
• Research assigned technology enhancements and make recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Dedicated Project Work

• Every Intern is assigned an impactful project(s).
• Approximately 30% of time is associated with project work.
• The scope of project(s) changes, but the impact will enhance the IS Department at Boston Properties.
  
  

Internal Operations

• Create and maintain documentation.
• Conduct research on new technologies and products.
  
  

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Currently performing course work in Computer Sciences or a related field.
• A want to learn and have a career in hybrid Cloud resource and networking environment.
• Ability to follow procedures while researching and documenting solutions to encountered issues.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Be detail-oriented and methodical in solving problems and managing multiple projects.
• Possess an aptitude toward learning technical concepts. Be results-oriented and a quick learner in supporting new products and technologies.
• Capable of sharing ideas and providing insightful observations with Engineers and Management.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Involves work of a general office nature usually performed sitting such as operation of a computer.
• Involves work of a general office nature usually performed standing such as operation of a fax and printer.
• Involves movement between departments to facilitate work.
• Involves lifting to install and/or relocate computers, network equipment and monitors. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

• This position regularly interacts in both verbal and written form with employees.
  
  

Reporting Structure:

• This position reports to the Director, Data Center & Cloud Services who provides supervision and guidance, and coordinates, evaluates, and monitors work performance on a periodic basis.
  
  

Salary Range:
