Location: Full-Time in person position. Not a remote or telemedicine position. Nationwide.
Specialty: Emergency Medicine
Salary: $264K-$294K
Responsibilities: Emergency Medicine Physicians provide immediate diagnosis, care, and stabilization for life-threatening conditions within various Navy settings, including hospitals, field units, and ships. They are trained to manage a wide range of emergencies, from civilian illnesses and injuries to combat-related trauma, and may also be involved in disaster planning and training.
Clinical Care:
Immediate Diagnosis and Treatment: They are responsible for quickly assessing patients, identifying the cause of their distress, and initiating appropriate treatment.
Stabilization: They ensure that patients are stabilized in critical situations, preventing further deterioration until specialized care can be provided.
Resuscitation: They are skilled in performing advanced life support procedures, such as CPR, to save lives.
Trauma Care: They have specialized training in managing injuries sustained in combat or other high-risk environments.
Critical Care: They provide intensive care to patients with serious medical or surgical conditions, often until a specialist can take over.
Operational Responsibilities:
Disaster Planning and Management: They play a crucial role in developing and executing plans for responding to natural disasters, mass casualty events, and other emergencies.
Training and Education: They may be involved in training other medical personnel in emergency procedures and techniques.
Coordination and Collaboration: They work closely with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, specialists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Additional Responsibilities:
Research: Some emergency physicians may be involved in research related to trauma care, emergency medicine, or other medical specialties.
Teaching: They may teach medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
Overseeing and Supervising: They may supervise other medical personnel, such as physician assistants or nurses, and manage the flow of patients in the emergency department

MD or DO from an accredited school or ECFMG
