Role Description

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: St. Petersburg, FL / Remote

Reports To: General Manager/Corp. Director of Accounting

Position Overview

The Controller will play a critical role in building the financial backbone of the resort. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a thriving resort hotel—responsible for maintaining & establishing all financial systems, controls, and procedures. The successful candidate will lead finance department and oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and audit functions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, payroll, tax filings, and banking.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders and ownership.
• Monitor financial performance and advise on strategies to optimize revenue, control costs, and ensure profitability.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and lead audits (internal and external).
• Support operations with financial insights and reporting as needed.
• Continuously refine systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, private clubs, or luxury lifestyle environments.
• Strong understanding of hospitality finance, hotel & restaurant operations
• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient in financial systems (M3,Nimble or similar), POS integration, and Microsoft Excel.

Compensation

• Annual salary: $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience
