This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
What you’ll do:
Safely load and unload all inbound and outbound flatbed freight, including proper load securement.
Label and tag freight with correct identifying information.
Verify materials against work orders for accuracy.
Complete shipment documentation accurately, courteously, and on time.
Provide professional, customer?focused service during all interactions.
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings.
Conduct basic inspections, routine maintenance, and cleaning of equipment.
Support general warehouse operations and customer service activities.
Assist coworkers and other departments as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
You have these skills:
Strong communication and active listening skills
Ability to read and understand work orders, maps, schedules, and hazmat documents
Good judgment, situational awareness, and decision?making skills
Strong time management and adaptability in changing environments
Ability to operate a forklift and other freight?handling equipment
Ability to safely operate company vehicles in varied weather conditions
Customer service mindset
Knowledge and use of proper lifting techniques
And these qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass all pre?employment screening
Hazardous Materials Certification
Forklift Certification
Basic understanding of freight or transportation operations
Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workflow and priorities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Completion of all required training and recertification
Ability to understand and follow regulations, procedures, and policies
Ability to operate all equipment used within the department
Safety footwear required
Extra credit if you have:
Minimum six months of relevant experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move up to 200 lbs using proper equipment
Ability to independently lift up to 70 lbs
Frequent repetitive motions
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools and materials
Regular standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
Ability to work in environments with exposure to weather, exhaust, and warehouse conditions
Work Environment:
Work performed indoors, outdoors, in vehicles, and at off?site locations
Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, fumes, and hazardous materials
Frequent proximity to moving and stationary equipment
Use of personal protective equipment may be required
Additional Requirements:
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
The hourly range is posted for this position in Washington. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
