Role Overview
Typical hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 pm with frequent Saturday work. Hours may vary with weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance of the plant and yard is completed.
Responsible for routine and daily housekeeping duties to ensure a clean plant and yard.
Safely and properly, maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning).
Shovel excess material away from crusher, screen or wash plant areas.
May operate small, powered hand tools.
Lifting, carrying and holding material, tools and supplies.
Help with daily errands as needed; deliver parts/items between Knife River locations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
Safety first attitude required
Ability to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen
Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance.
Experience working around plants and or rock crushers
Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
Equipment operation skills helpful.
Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
May Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
Hand eye coordination.
Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time
