Head of Structures | Reusable Spacecraft | Denver, CO
We're partnering with an innovative aerospace company developing next-generation reusable spacecraft and are looking for an experienced Head of Structures to lead structural and mechanical engineering across the full vehicle lifecycle.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the structural architecture for a groundbreaking space platform, build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, and help shape the future of reusable space systems.
What you'll be doing:
Lead structural and mechanical design, analysis, testing, and verification
Build and grow a team of structures and mechanical engineers
Drive structural analysis, including static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue
Own structural verification, qualification, and reflight strategy
Work cross-functionally with propulsion, thermal, GNC, manufacturing, and integration teams
Optimise designs for performance, mass, manufacturability, and reusability
What we're looking for:
12+ years' experience in spacecraft, launch, or aerospace structures
Experience leading engineering teams and taking hardware from concept to flight
Strong FEA experience (ANSYS or FEMAP)
Expertise in lightweight structures, composites, metallics, and aerospace manufacturing
Proficiency with Siemens NX (or similar 3D CAD) and GD&T
Hands-on experience with hardware integration and testing
Nice to have:
Reentry or hot structures experience
Reusable or fatigue-critical hardware
Startup experience
NASA GEVS or SMC-S-016 knowledge
