Job Summary
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading the internal sales operations of Deltrol Controls, including customer service, forecasting, sales project coordination, and sales process optimization. This role ensures that customer orders, quotations, and sales support activities are executed efficiently and accurately while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Inside Sales Manager supervises the Inside Sales team and serves as the operational link between customers, Business Development, and internal departments such as Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance. This position plays a critical role in managing the company’s master sales forecast, coordinating internal sales projects, maintaining customer relationships for house accounts, customer contracts, and ensuring effective use of sales systems including the Syteline ERP platform.
The Inside Sales Manager works closely with the Business Development Manager to align forecasting, sales pipeline visibility, and project execution while supporting the overall strategic objectives of the company.
Essential Job Functions
Sales Operations Leadership- Lead, develop, and supervise the Inside Sales Representatives to ensure effective customer support and order management.
- Establish and maintain efficient sales operations processes including quoting, order entry, forecasting, and sales project tracking.
- Optimize work processes to improve responsiveness, accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators such as customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, quote turnaround time, and forecast accuracy.
Forecasting & Sales Planning
- Develop and maintain the master sales forecast for the company using input from the Business Development team, customer input, and historical sales data.
- Coordinate regular forecasting reviews and ensure alignment between internal operations and external sales activities.
- Analyze forecast accuracy and implement improvements to forecasting methods.
Customer & Account Management
- Manage and maintain relationships with assigned house accounts, ensuring continued business and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support the Business Development team in resolving customer issues and coordinating internal resources.
- Assist in negotiating and managing customer agreements including supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other contractual documents within company guidelines. Ensure compliance with agreements once established.
Sales Project Management
- Coordinate internal sales projects including new product introductions, customer development projects, and engineering changes.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule by working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Identify and resolve issues that could delay project completion or customer deliveries.
Pricing & Quotations
- Oversee the preparation of quotations and ensure timely responses to customer requests.
- Approve pricing within established company guidelines and escalation procedures.
- Work with management and Business Development to maintain competitive and profitable pricing structures.
Returns and Customer Issue Resolution
- Oversee the RMA process and ensure that returned product issues are handled properly and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work with Quality and Operations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain professional communication with customers regarding product quality or service concerns.
Systems, Data, and Process Ownership
- Ensure effective use of Syteline ERP and other sales tools for order management, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Analyze sales and operational data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
- Lead initiatives to improve sales data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and operational visibility.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Materials, and Finance to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and external sales personnel to resolve issues and improve responsiveness.
Sales Coordination
- Participate in regular coordination meetings with the Business Development Manager and their team to review forecasts, project pipelines, and customer opportunities.
- Support alignment between internal sales operations and external business development activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Participate in the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Comply with all aspects of the company safety program.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Substantially relevant experience may be accepted as an alternative.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales operations, inside sales, or customer service leadership in a manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve business processes.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and operational data.
· Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Syteline ERP is preferred.
· Understanding of commercial contracts such as supply agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate activities across multiple departments.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Reporting/ Working Relationships
· Reports directly to the President.
· Supervises Inside Sales Representatives.
· Works closely with the Business Development Manager and Regional Sales Managers to coordinate forecasting, project execution, and customer support.
· Must interact with personnel from all departments including Engineering, Production, Quality, Materials, and Finance.
