Engines & Power Systems provides the propulsion, auxiliary power and electrical systems that keep aircraft flying. With engines across roughly 120 aircraft types and more than 47,000 APUs in service today, we support operators across commercial and defense markets — backed by an aftermarket network built for the long service life of every platform we power.
THE POSITION
The Legacy Engines and APU Structures Group within the Component Design & Analysis (CDA) directorate is responsible for the design, development and analysis of static gas turbine engine components. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing and leading subordinate efforts on stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses. Responsibilities include providing technical expertise on a variety of engine and power systems programs. You will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to ensure compliance to customer and program requirements. Other responsibilities include communicating with Project engineering teams, resource and manpower planning, conduction of design reviews, presentations to internal and external customers, ensuring proper documentation of work performed and engaging and leading department process improvement initiatives.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
Minimum of 8 years of experience performing structural analysis on engines
Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elastic-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses
Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods

Minimum of 10 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines
Practical knowledge of ANSYS finite element analysis software
Industrial Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mentor others
Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment
Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
Effectively operate in a matrix organization
Track record of successful contribution to products and projects
