Senior Project Manager


Project Description

Provide Project Management support for the EPMO program, overseeing key deliverables and activities for the new hospital build-out and deployment, including IT Epic EMR and infrastructure workgroups.

The Senior Project Manager will work closely with both the SVP of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and the Project Director to support all project activities, including but not limited to:

  1. Represent the EPMO in all project planning meetings.
  2. Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and IT leaders to identify business requirements and perform needs assessments for IT systems and services.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop specifications for enterprise IT systems, services, and spaces that meet business requirements.
  4. Work with the purchasing department to develop and issue IFBs, RFQs, and RFPs for hardware, software, and services that meet business specifications.
  5. Assist project stakeholders in evaluating bids and selecting vendors.
  6. Develop a Project Charter including goals, objectives, scope, deliverables, budget, stakeholders, roles, responsibilities, and schedule.
  7. Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule.
  8. Schedule and conduct regular project status meetings with stakeholders and capture meeting minutes for distribution.
  9. Track critical path tasks and assigned resources.
  10. Document and report Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID log).
  11. Track project change requests and approvals.
  12. Upload and maintain project documentation on the project SharePoint site.
  13. Issue weekly project status reports.
  14. Travel to Fournace Place, clinic locations, and the current LBJ Hospital to conduct onsite engagement sessions with operations, IT staff, and the design team.
  15. Perform any other duties as needed.


Skills Required

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience managing and leading large, complex technology-related projects with multiple business stakeholders, including full project lifecycle management as a Senior Project Manager.
  • Eight (8) years of experience with an advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for two years of required experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, ServiceNow SPM, or other project management tools.


Skills Desired

  • Five (5) years of project management experience within a healthcare system.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Healthcare Information Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience from an accredited institution).
  • Five (5) years of experience with local, state, and/or federal regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a large Project Management Office (PMO).
