We're a boutique investigations firm serving law firms and corporations in high-stakes disputes —involving fraud, hidden assets, and adversaries who've worked hard to cover their tracks. We're looking for an investigator who's equally comfortable chasing records through obscure databases, speaking sources who don't want to talk and creatively developing a book of business.

This is not a compliance checkbox role. You'll work on matters that actually matter: complex litigation, M&A due diligence, and fraud investigations where your findings shape real outcomes. You'll find clients to help and grow relationships with them.

What You'll Do

+Investigations

• Investigate people and companies for high-stakes legal disputes and merger/acquisition transactions — then write sharp, clear reports about what you found
• Conduct source interviews and manage surveillance operations
• Master both desktop research and old-fashioned shoe-leather investigative work
• Coordinate complex surveillance operation

+Bring in business

• Identify speaking opportunities 
• Speak and present to groups of potential clients
• Write articles and social media posts
• Attend professional events
• Build new relationships with clients

What You Bring

• Experience conducting investigations for law firms, corporations, or investors — or a strong investigative journalism background
• Deep fluency with public records research and private investigative databases
• Familiarity with fraud and white-collar crime (a real plus)
• Strong writing skills — you can turn complex findings into clear, compelling narratives
• A bachelor's degree minimum; a master's or JD is a bonus
• Prior experience at a global investigative consulting firm is a bonus
• Serious OSINT skills are a bonus

This is a hybrid job based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates throughout California will be considered. Full time or part time will be considered.
