About Grubhub

At Grubhub, we believe food is more than just a meal: It’s a source of discovery, connection, and pure enjoyment. There’s a time and place for every type of dish, from hidden neighborhood gems to tried-and-true favorites, and we exist to connect people with the food they love in all the ways they like to dig in. We’ve been at it since 2004, but now, as part of Wonder, Grubhub is operating with a renewed sense of momentum and the high-velocity energy of a powerhouse startup.

As a leading U.S. ordering and delivery marketplace, we feature over 415,000 merchants in more than 4,000 cities, creating the ultimate food experience by elevating online ordering through innovative restaurant technology, easy-to-use platforms, and an improved delivery experience. We are constantly finding new ways to innovate—from integrated grocery delivery with groceries powered by Instacart to exclusive loyalty programs. Join our team, based out of New York City, Chicago and Denver, and help us give our diners the exceptional value they deserve.

About The Opportunity

Grubhub is seeking a technically fluent Staff Product Manager to lead strategy and execution across our merchant ordering experience. This role sits at the intersection of merchant operations, order management, and platform reliability — owning the product surfaces and systems that ensure orders flow smoothly from the moment a diner places an order to the moment it's handed off. You'll work across both integrated (POS-connected) and non-integrated merchant flows, and will need comfort navigating architecturally distinct systems that require different solutions for the same underlying problem.

The Impact You Will Make

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and drive product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the merchant ordering experience, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and merchant needs
  • Identify and size sources of order loss, conversion drop-off, and merchant operational friction, and build the case for addressing them
  • Balance high-urgency fixes that recover demand in the near term with foundational work that prevents conversion loss at scale
  • Synthesize inputs from merchants, operations, engineering, and data into clear, prioritized roadmaps

Product Development & Execution

  • Lead complex initiatives from discovery through implementation, testing, and ongoing management
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and merchant success teams to define requirements, user stories, and deliver impactful products
  • Own product surfaces across both integrated and non-integrated merchant flows, understanding where solutions converge and where they must diverge based on underlying architecture
  • Manage technical and business dependencies across stakeholders

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design/UXR, solutions consultants, logistics, and merchant success
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and internal stakeholders, acting as the primary PM voice for the ordering experience domain
  • Communicate complex technical and operational concepts clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Define and track KPIs that measure order reliability, merchant operational performance, and conversion health
  • Use data to identify sources of demand loss, validate hypotheses, and measure the impact of product changes
  • Build dashboards and run experiments to optimize performance across the ordering experience
  • Establish feedback loops with care, operations, and merchant success teams to surface and triage emerging issues quickly

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience owning products in ordering, fulfillment, logistics, or marketplace environments — comfort with the operational complexity of real-time order flows is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix sources of friction or failure in existing product flows, with measurable before/after outcomes
  • Comfort working across architecturally distinct systems — you know when one solution fits all and when it doesn't, and you make that call based on evidence rather than assumption
  • Data fluency and demonstrated data-driven decision making, including experience with SQL, dashboards, and A/B testing
  • Technical acumen including familiarity with APIs and order management systems; ability to work closely with engineers on complex systems and communicate technical specifications clearly
  • Experience collaborating across technology, operations, logistics, and external partners
  • Ownership mentality with a track record of high-quality execution and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create clarity through strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience in food delivery, restaurant technology, or two-sided marketplace platforms is a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems or middleware integrations is a plus
