Staff Software Engineer

Hyper-growth defense tech startup is looking to add a Staff Software Engineer to its rapidly expanding engineering team. This is an opportunity to build mission-critical software powering next-generation data intelligence mapping software for commercial and intelligence clients.

You'll play a key role in designing and architecting scalable backend systems while contributing across the full stack in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. Working alongside software, AI/ML, infrastructure, and forward-deployed engineering teams.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Node.js (preferred), Go, Scala, Python, Rust, or another modern programming language.
• Experience designing scalable system architectures and distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience deploying cloud-native applications in AWS.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database design and optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

Nice to Have:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Background developing AI/ML solutions
• Experience building scalable data pipelines with modern data orchestration tools and/or background with cloud-based data warehousing platforms
• Frontend experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience building software for distributed or resource-constrained environments.
• Startup experience building products from the ground up.
