The Position

The anticipated hourly starting rate for the ideal candidate is $31.27.

The Lee County Port Authority is seeking a professional and highly responsible individual that will oversee the records management system for the Airport Police Department. This role will also assist as a primary technician on the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system functionality and software applications, including data analysis, reporting, and management of peripheral systems such as Mobile Data Computers (MDC) and other software.

Minimum Requirements

  • A valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire
  • Associate’s degree\ computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of experience in a law enforcement setting
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background screening, drug test, and meet the requirements to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, through the SIDA training process and TSA
  • Security Threat Assessment prior to employment
  • Complete Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) limited access training within three months of hire. To apply and obtain CJIS security training, you must be a United States citizen or have been a lawful resident of the United States for the past 10 consecutive years
  • Availability to work flexible shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) and respond to 24-hour holdovers/recalls for essential services and emergencies

Key Responsibilities

  • Will assist in creating custom data entry fields or modules in the RMS/CAD to assist with reporting and analysis, basic knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
  • Coordinates the Body Worn Camera (BWC) system to include purchasing, maintaining, and disseminating of video
  • Performs the duties of the administrator for the Live Scan fingerprint, RapidID fingerprint and other departmental technology systems
  • Works directly and communicates with LCPA IT, LCPA Maintenance, Motorola, SOMA and County stakeholders to ensure technical issues of system applications used by the Police Department are reported and promptly resolved
  • Troubleshoot software and technical hardware issues, including BWC, vehicle dash cams, printers, and radios
  • Collaborate with LCPA IT to research, evaluate, and implement new law enforcement technologies
  • Ensure 24/7 functionality of critical systems, including RMS/CAD, Video Management, and the 800 MHz radio network

Florida Retirement System (FRS)

The Port Authority participates in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Employees have the option of choosing between two retirement plans:

  • FRS Pension Plan – traditional retirement plan that offers a guaranteed monthly benefit upon vesting requirements
  • FRS Investment Plan – benefit is based on contributions made to the account and on investment performance. Both plans require eligible employees to contribute 3% per paycheck, while the employer contributes 13.63% for regular class or 32.79% for Special Risk.

Medical Insurance

The Port Authority offers two plan choices for all full-time employees, their legally married spouse and their dependents. Coverage begins the first of the month following their date of hire.

Dental Insurance

The Port Authority offers a dental plan for full time employees, their legally married spouse and children.

Vision Insurance

The Port Authority offers two (2) affordable plans options to select: Low and High Plan.

Employee Assistance Program

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. This is the availability of licensed professional counselors for personal issues with 100% confidentiality.

Flexible Spending Account(s)

There are two (2) types of FSA reimbursement accounts that allows contributions to be deducted from each paycheck before taxes to cover expense with pre-tax dollars. This lowers your taxable income. 1) Medical Expense Reimbursement – covers out-of-pocket expenses for medical, dental and/or vision expenses; 2) Dependent Care Reimbursement - covers daycare costs for dependent children under the age of 13 or elderly adult daycare.

Life /AD & D Insurance

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. Employees are insured at an amount equal to the annual salary rounded to the next higher thousand dollars. The AD&D insurance provides additional coverage in the event the employee should lose their limb(s), eyesight or die.

Additional Life Insurance

The Port Authority provides the employee with an option to purchase additional life insurance coverage for him/herself, their spouse and their child(ren).

Short Term Disability

The Port Authority provides the employee with short term disability coverage for him/herself at no cost to the employee. Benefits are paid to 60% of salary up to nine (9) weeks.

Long Term Disability

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. Benefits are paid up to 60% of the employee's salary after being disabled for 60 consecutive days.

Direct Deposit

The employee's payroll check is directly deposited into the bank of their choice.

A national fingerprint-based record check shall be conducted prior to granting access to Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) for all personnel who have unescorted access to unencrypted CJIS or unescorted access to physically secure locations or controlled areas. Applicants with a record of misdemeanor offense(s) may be granted access if it is determined the nature or severity of the misdemeanor offense(s) does not warrant disqualification.
