Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Test Technician conducts design verification and reliability testing in support of new product development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?

  • Testing to verify product performance, system integration, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Conduct tests on products, components, and systems according to established test procedures and protocols.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate busway system performance and reliability.
  • Record test data accurately and meticulously, ensuring completeness and reliability.
  • Document test procedures, results, and observations in written reports or electronic formats.
  • Document test results in a way that conforms to company standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the test area and equipment.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment. Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
  • Assist with 3D printing operations, including printer setup, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and stocking consumables.
  • Perform non-precision part modifications and basic fabrication using manual shop equipment (drill press, grinders, hand tools) to support engineering changes, fit-up, and prototyping needs.
  • Load and unload transport trucks in support of testing needs.
  • Support testing at external laboratories. Includes remote work location averaging one-week durations spread throughout the year.
  • Ensures that the test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any tests.
  • Assists with maintaining test equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and repair maintenance as required.
  • Support facility maintenance as occasional needs arise.
  • Perform additional duties as deemed necessary to support the overall goals of the organization.

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred

Experience

  • No prior experience required. Some experience working with electrical equipment is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Software tools: Microsoft 365
  • Ability to quickly learn new software tools and systems, including PLM and ERP platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Prioritizes own work to meet organizational objectives
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little guidance in a team environment
  • Skilled use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Manual dexterity to grasp items, manipulate objects, and sense their properties.

Additional Requirements Or Personal Qualities/Behaviors

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 15% of the time.
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the laboratory environment where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
