- [Instructor] Most IT organizations categorize their infrastructure spend. So how can we do the same thing with AI infrastructure? When we talk about cloud infrastructure, we typically divide them into categories to understand their capabilities in how to make buying decisions. These are often referred to as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. As a quick refresher, IaaS stands for infrastructure as a service, PaaS stands for platform as a service, SaaS stands for software as a service, and in the AI world, MaaS stands for model as a service. Let's go through some examples with a situation where we want to train a model. IaaS typically refers to as a basic set of compute, and in the AI context, this might be VMs with GPU support.
