It is a little embarrassing to talk about this because it is so obvious... but it seems like this needs to be talked about more!

How often does it take to create a good proprietary study? I'm thinking that's a once a year thing

I've heard similarly: everything truly worthwhile starts hard and gets easier. If it starts easy and gets harder you're doing it wrong.

This tracks with what we're seeing on the GTM side too. The tactics that hold up are built on a real diagnosis of what makes you worth citing in the first place, not a format trick everyone else can copy by Friday.

I recently read Jurassic Park. Ian Malcolm has a great monologue on this topic that I’d forgotten about.

People keep missing Reddit because most marketers never really search it properly. They read one thread, think the idea is good, then forget to check again. The useful part is having a simple way to find the right conversations and reply before they get buried.

easy tactics get copied fast, so they stop working once the same play spreads. On Reddit a throwaway account spamming links gets wiped, while an account with a two-year history keeps getting cited by AI. Slow is the whole point.
