Basabjit Ghosh’s Post

Two years ago, I joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Dublin as a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager. But the real story started a bit earlier. Shortly after moving back to India from The Netherlands, I found myself hitting a career plateau—one of those phases where you start questioning your trajectory and wondering if you're losing your hard-earned momentum. Then came opportunity and AWS gave me the chance to return to Europe and step into a world where scale, ownership, and impact are real, not just slide-deck vocabulary. The first few months were all about finding my footing again. Understanding hyperscale infrastructure. Navigating complex stakeholder ecosystems. Rebuilding confidence. And then, something powerful happened. My leaders didn’t just assign me tasks; they gave me the space to steady the ship, find my rhythm, and then handed me a blank canvas to paint on. That trust changes everything. Over the last two years, I’ve had the privilege of driving programs that directly influence how AWS scales infrastructure capacity across regions. The learning curve has been steep, the challenges complex, and the growth immense. None of this happens in a vacuum. I’m deeply grateful to the mentors who trusted me to take big swings—Alex Zonnoorian ,Aneel Ali , Bheema Reddy ,Richard Urassa , Ashish ,Jørgen Grinnes , Alin P. Alp Sivri Louise McKenna Smith and to the incredible teams across infrastructure, network, operations, and program management: thank you for making the impossible look routine every single day. Two years in, and it still feels like Day 1. More to build. More to learn. More to scale. Onwards 🚀 And what a day to commemorate your footfall in a new chapter Happy St. Patricks Day from Ireland #AWS #CloudInfrastructure #ProgramManagement #CareerJourney #Day1

Nice to hear. Appreciate the timely support from your leaders, mentors during the career plateau phase that you mentioned.
