Robbie Byrne, this is a brialliant idea mate. I have met so many people who struggle to dliever an accuarate narrative about what is at the core of their capabiity and character, and I have had to work very hard as a candidate and employer to get to that. As an employer, I rarely see an experienced candidate who understands their own value, and is able to clearly articulate it.
Well done ole mate. I know for me when I was finishing up at TDL after 20 years. Looking back, I had never had an actual real job in the outside world. I had no idea what I wanted to do, let alone what in theory I could do. It seems silly, but it's super confronting to aknowledge and to try and work it out. Then to make a decision, back it hard and go pitch yourself. Especially if you are not quite sure, it shows through straight away in an interview. Lucky for me there were mates who asked me to give them a hand and I ended up doing all sorts of random things, taking away any need to consciously make a decision or a plan. If I ever need to sit back and work out what I wanna be when I grow up, I'll hit up AI Robbie, although pretty sure I like hanging out with the original Robbie more.
Super work Robbie - I also am talking to senior and experienced people and together we find it's challenging to articulate how experience (value) applies for the next 2-3 yrs in a disrupted /transforming environment. It's hard to find an original and valuable idea - this is one. Well done mate.
The delta between what someone can do and what they can articulate is exactly where most experienced careers stall.
