The McDonough Military Association is proud to announce that one of our own has been selected as a Pat Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation. Byron Owen served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry, Intelligence, and Cyber Officer. During his career, he had the privilege of commanding 1st Force Reconnaissance Company, Cyberspace Warfare Task Group 2, and 3d Radio Battalion. Byron is the author of the upcoming novel Bury My Heart in Baghdad. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in English and holds postgraduate degrees from the U.S. Naval War College and the National War College. His personal decorations include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Valor, and three Purple Hearts. Click on the link in the comments to meet Byron and his fellow scholars:
