Camilla Victoria Lindberg Christensen’s Post

After 13 years of working for American companies in London and Singapore, time has come for me to explore what it's like to be based out of Copenhagen, living close to family and working for a Danish company In 2018, I was given the opportunity to relocate from Singapore to London to work on the user experience of Google Maps. It was hard to leave Singapore and TripAdvisor and it was easy to say yes to London and Google. I think of my time at Google in 3 chapters First there were the hectic, mind-expanding pre-covid days of frequent travels around the globe to do everything from facilitating co-creation sessions in India and Nigeria to attending conferences in Stockholm and Barcelona to participating in design sprints in New York, Mountain View, and Seattle Then came a period of feeling extra grateful for working with people that really seemed to care about each other and the people for whom we were building during the pandemic Finally, there were the enriching post-covid opportunities to work on new impactful products up until my recent maternity leave I've learned a lot about UX and corporate culture during this time, and I want to thank all my colleagues for the lessons, inspiration, laughs, excitement, frustration, 1000+ strategy decks, 10,000+ design explorations and iterations, million cups of coffee, and other important things they've shared with me over the past 6 years: thank you for allowing me to leave on a high note Today is my last day as a Googler Tomorrow I'll be a Xoogler In May, I will focus on being a mum settling her son into a new life, a partner supporting her boyfriend in his 8th country move, and a woman in tech who is ready for new challenges In June, I'll join Pleo as a Content Design Manager, advocating for the discipline I love so much: using language to design intuitive experiences that help people get things done virtually and in the real world. I look forward to meeting my new team and to helping them solve new problems. It's hard to leave London and Google and it's easy to say yes to Copenhagen and a company with a meaningful product, strong mission, talented people, and an appealing culture Happy Friday! :)

You will be missed! Good luck in the next chapter and will be cheering for you from this side

Wow! Du er for sej og kæmpe velkommen hjem…. Måske vi støder på hinanden i de københavnske gader på et tidspunkt. (Når vi engang siger farvel NYC)

Congrats Camilla! I remember our co-creation days fondly. Excited for what’s next for you. I love Copenhagen!
