I am excited to announce that BCG and OpenAI have embarked on a multi-year expansion of our partnership to help organizations accelerate their AI transformations at scale. AI alone does not drive transformation. It must be linked to strategy, built into redesigned processes, and adopted at scale with aligned incentives and culture to deliver sustained outcomes. Our expanded partnership combines OpenAI’s Frontier platform with BCG’s deep industry, functional, and tech expertise and BCG X’s build-and-scale capabilities to drive measurable impact with safeguards from day one. The consulting firms that figure out how to scale AI implementation (not just strategy decks) are going to dominate the next decade. How long until custom AI deployment becomes the primary revenue driver over traditional advisory?

The focus on strategic partnerships often obscures a deeper systemic risk: the architectural debt of outsourcing cognitive agency in the post-AI era. Integrating OpenAI at a conglomerate scale is less about tool adoption and more about mitigating the risk of operational stagnation. When consulting frameworks rely on centralized, opaque models, executive decision-making loses its unique edge, collapsing into a standardized mean that lacks genuine market differentiation. In enterprise integrations at scale, I consistently observe how platform dependence creates a fragility that no CRM or ERP optimization can fully mitigate. Does institutionalizing AI-driven advice solve the innovation gap, or does it merely redistribute strategic accountability to a black-box entity?

"Aligned incentives and culture to deliver sustained outcomes." That line is doing a lot of work — and it's entirely a relationship problem. You can link AI to strategy. You can redesign processes. But aligned incentives and culture only happen when the people driving change have high Relationship Intelligence — the ability to build genuine trust, not just structured buy-in. The difference between transformation that sticks and transformation that stalls isn't the model. It's the relational credibility of the people behind it. RQ is the multiplier on everything else BCG and OpenAI are building together. #relationshipintelligence

How, specifically, does “AI + consulting” avoid becoming another expensive pilot factory and instead deliver a secure, measurable, auditable agent operation that the enterprise can run reliably without perpetual vendor dependency?

BCG now substitutes their junior consultants by agentic AI? Just kidding. I firmly believe that AI brings us a lot closer to letting people focus & thrive on people topics like: communication, conflict resolution, coaching skills, deep listening and so on. When I first started into consulting it was revealing to experience that the best consultants actually brought also coaching skills to their customers. That's what is needed to deeply understand clients needs & ultimately guide clients to innovate & drive transformation. Christoph Schweizer 👏

Christoph Schweizer the bottleneck has clearly moved from the tech to the enterprise. Most organizations can access powerful models, but far fewer have redesigned decision rights, performance management, and incentives for a world where a digital coworker is part of the workflow. That is why pilots look promising and value stays trapped in experimentation. If this delivers, the real win will be a repeatable way to tie agents to core processes with clear accountability and P&L-level measurement from day one. I'd love to hear how you’re seeing this with clients today: when an AI agent operates inside a critical function, who actually owns the outcome and how are you reviewing its performance?

Congratulations on this expanded partnership—such an exciting milestone! The combination of OpenAI’s frontier platform with BCG’s proven expertise is a powerful step toward helping organizations move from AI pilots to scaled transformation. It’s inspiring to see a focus not just on technology, but on embedding AI into strategy, processes, and culture to deliver sustainable outcomes. Looking forward to seeing the impact this collaboration will drive across industries.

Grateful for the partnership and excited to build AI in enterprise together!

AI can be a powerful enabler, but as Christoph rightly points out, technology alone does not drive transformation. True impact comes when strategy, processes, incentives, and culture are aligned. From an executive coaching perspective, leaders play a critical role in embedding these principles—strengthening decision-making, fostering accountability, and ensuring that teams adopt and scale innovations effectively. Aligning people, strategy, and technology is what turns AI potential into sustainable outcomes.
