Meet Micheal Olawale, a computer science graduate turning what he learned into research that helps make software systems safer and more reliable. Just one year after earning his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of London, Micheal is conducting research at Swansea University, applying the skills he built throughout his degree in a new and challenging environment. "Moving into a self-driven environment made me realise how much responsibility comes with applying what you've learned," Micheal says. "At the same time, it has been fulfilling to see theory come alive." Today, Micheal works in software verification, helping ensure complex systems operate safely and correctly. The foundations he built in algorithms, software engineering, mathematics, and logic continue to shape his work every day. "The programme gave me a strong foundation in problem solving and structured thinking," he says. "The work I am doing now builds directly on the mathematics and logic I learned during my degree." One lesson continues to stand out. Through a web development course, Micheal was introduced to test-driven development, an approach that changed how he thinks about building software. "It made me think about building software that can be trusted, not just software that works." 💡 His advice for current and future learners: "Focus on truly understanding what you're doing. Explore beyond the curriculum, build projects, and challenge yourself with new problems." For Micheal, graduation wasn't the finish line. It was the beginning of applying his knowledge in new ways and creating real-world impact. 🎓 Interested in the University of London Bachelor of Science in Computer Science on Coursera? It’s inspiring to see someone turn deep technical skill into real‑world impact. When you blend theory with responsibility and build software people can trust, you’re not just coding you’re shaping safer systems and stronger standards.
Congratulations
I am writing to express my appreciation for the Generative and Agentic AI certification I recently completed on your platform. It provided me with valuable skills in prompt engineering and agentic AI design. As I am deeply passionate about this field, I am eager to advance my studies further, specifically in building complex agentic AI systems. However, the fact that most specialized courses are currently only available in English acts as a significant barrier for the French-speaking community. Are there any plans to offer more content, exercises, or localized subtitles to help a broader audience further develop these technical skills? Thank you
