Sometimes the best connections happen when you take the wrong turn. Literally. 🏃♂️ During the XChange Security event in Frisco, Texas 🤠🇺🇸, I joined the morning “fun run” with a great mix of vendors and MSPs. We ran slowly (at least I did 😅) around the golf course outside the hotel, talking about the MSP market, partnerships, and how we can grow together 🤝 Our group included Marc Dunbar, Kim Mai Huynh, Seth Olinski, and me At some point, Marc and I got deeply involved in the conversation 💬, fell far behind the others… and made the wrong turn. After about 5 km, it started raining 🌧️ After another kilometer, we realized we still had around 5 km to get back - and the event agenda had already started We needed help! 🆘 Marc, being the operational guy, spotted some golf course employees driving utility carts 🛺. Using his impressive persuasion skills, he convinced one of them to take us back to the hotel. What followed was less “golf cart ride” and more “Formula 1: Frisco Edition” 🏎️ I held on for my life 😱 while our driver raced across the golf course like someone who knew every turn, hill, and shortcut ⛳ Five minutes later, we arrived back at the hotel - completely soaked , full of adrenaline , and with a great story to start the day. A wrong turn, heavy rain, a high-speed golf cart rescue, and a new friendship 🤝 That is what I call a real networking event.
