Dawn McNellis’ Post

250 yeas ago a group of people made a decision that changed the world. No guarantee of success. No roadmap. Just an unshakeable belief and the determination to see it through. This week I stood in front of the Liberty Bell with my three boys and felt the weight of that. Trace has been reading about the American Revolution this summer. The alliances forged, the odds stacked impossibly high, untrained men taking on the greatest military in the world (at the time) on nothing but conviction. Walking through the American Revolution Museum, watching him connect the pages to the place - I couldn't explain the feeling if I tried. Pride. Gratitude. Goosebumps. This is also stamp one in our summer passport tradition. National parks, lighthouses, historic sites. One small trip at a time. Building a summer of moments that I hope they carry with them long after they've forgotten everything else. Because that's what this day is really about. Not just celebrating what was built, but making sure the next generation understands what it cost. Happy 250th America! Trace, Tanner & Dalton - I hope you never take it for granted. Ever.
