Protecting your fleet starts with proactive sourcing. There are multiple ways you can ensure authenticity of the repair parts you’re buying. 1. Buy from authorized dealers: Use trusted distributors and ask for genuine OEM parts. 2. Inspect packaging and branding: Genuine OEM parts have clear, traceable markings and part numbers. 3. Train your team: Educate maintenance and purchasing staff to identify and reject non-genuine or suspicious components.

During my hamble experience in spare parts as both Buyer and seller I noticed that the most driving factor for decision making is Price for at least 50% factor if not the only factor for lots of customers, and it was the most challenging task to explain the intangible value or tangible later thru reduced cost that is invisible to most if them if they don't know where to look, but all they see is the Now bill that they have to pay. so among lots of benefits, lets just sum up few of the simple points that worth your money when you get from a certified dealer who is more of a partner than just a a supplier: -Technical & Engineering Advisory: most of the time free thru catalogs and well versed engineers and technicians who put their years worth of experience at your service (up grades, preventive, compatibility, safe keep of your asset over all) -operational reliability and predictive stocks to your needs, when you need the item it is there. - Quality & Compliance Assurance which can reflect on the customer reputation in the market as reliable (their machines ) -Customer Education thru trainings and events of new products or new technologies. in the end what you are buying is not just the product itself, it’s the reliability, expertise, and trust that come with it. keep that in mind next time you are going to "buy" or "sell"

When purchasing electronic components, small quantities result in poor pricing, while large orders face extended delivery times that hinder production. Solutions include: 1. Consolidate small orders from a single supplier. 2. Submit bulk orders via Bill of Materials (BOM) for better pricing leverage and payment terms. For large quantities, conduct advance delivery schedule analysis and implement preventive measures, including contingency plans with suppliers for high-risk materials. ICONECHIP specializes in resolving these challenges, delivering cost-effective components with fast turnaround times while proactively mitigating procurement risks.

I had a chance to visit an amazing electronics contract manufacturer this week and it made me realize that they have the right business model but the industry is broken. It isn't that most CMs are bad businesses, it's that their objectives are misaligned with their customers. Most CMs want to purchase components for their customers because it increases top line revenue (and some bottom line) in order to make the business look bigger. But if the core competency of these companies is in manufacturing and assembly and not supply chain, why are OEMs cedeing control of that crucial part of their business. This particular EMS reached out to Cofactr because a mutual customer told them about us. They prefer to work on consignment because, again, it allows them to focus on what they are really great at. If OEMs were to retake control of the procurement of their electronic components, I am convinced the industry would see an increase in productivity. OEMs would be able to lower their cost per unit while also avoiding supply issues due to shortages or long lead times. CMs could focus on assembly of PCBs without the distraction of procuring and storing inventory. Turn time would decrease. The challenge is a world that rewards all increases to revenue and profit as equal as opposed to efficiently putting capital to work to maximize returns.

We just turned on our new RFQ intake form. For most shops, the quoting process is still a mess of PDFs, phone calls, and emails that disappear into the void. Lead times start slipping before the material even leaves the yard. This is our attempt to fix that — starting at the very first touchpoint. The new form standardizes how we collect dimensional, spec, and compliance data. It feeds directly into our internal cutting, nesting, and sourcing systems so we can process requests at high speed with fewer errors and cleaner handoffs. Give it a shot on our website!

📢 Important Default Clauses for GeM IT Products (e.g., Workstations) Buyers and Sellers on GeM are advised to take note of the following key default conditions: 1️⃣ OEM Logo Restriction Buyers should avoid including conditions that require an OEM logo on the motherboard, as such clauses are restrictive and not permissible in bids. 2️⃣ Configuration Integrity Sellers must not alter or modify the configuration of factory pre-loaded machines.
