The hotel guest experience is being destroyed by a $2 plastic card. Late night check-ins are where hospitality "magic" usually goes to die. The scene is always the same: •A guest arrives at 2 AM after a 6-hour delay. •The front desk is understaffed or overwhelmed. •The magnetic strip on the key card fails (again). Now, your guest is standing in a hallway, exhausted and locked out. We spend millions on lobby marble, artisanal soaps, and 800-thread-count sheets. Yet, we consistently ignore the Last Mile of the user journey the actual physical entry into the room. As a Product Manager, I see this as a classic Systemic Friction problem. We’ve optimized the Booking and the Stay, but we’ve left the Access to 1990s technology. If the first 5 minutes of a stay are high-friction, the next 48 hours are spent in recovery mode rather than loyalty building. I’m curious to hear from the travelers and ops pros in my network: What is the one "tiny" friction point in a hotel stay that makes you question the entire brand? #Gatekeypers #innovation #Startups #HospitalityTech
