Cardiff gave me late nights, a caffeine dependency, and a healthy fear of deadlines… and also an MSc in Cyber Security🎓 On Monday I walked the stage for my master’s with my family watching - a moment I won’t forget. It caps off a journey that started with my BSc in Computer Science here in 2021. I won’t pretend it was easy. But every one of those challenges pushed me further than I expected, and I came out the other side surer of the path I want than when I started. Huge thank you to the lecturers and support staff who helped get me here - Yulia Cherdantseva, Neetesh Saxena, Dr Daniel J. Finnegan, Dr Amir Javed, Dr Irene Anthi, George Theodorakopoulos, Andrew Hood, Susan Monkton, Ian Cooper, Elaine Haigh, Iryna Bernyk, Dr Lowri Williams, Kathryn Jones and everyone else too! You all challenged how I think about security and pushed me well past the textbook. The part that still feels surreal: I’m already living the next chapter. At Assurix I’ve spent the last 9 months helping build our GRC and customer success functions - going from theory in a lecture theatre to helping MSPs actually prove their security posture, not just claim it.
