You're posting on too many job boards. 15 boards might bring 200 applications. But if none convert to placements, you're just creating work. Focus changes results. Four targeted boards with 48 applications can deliver three placements. The difference? Knowing which boards your ideal candidates actually use. Track application sources for three months. You'll likely find two niche boards and one mainstream platform bring 80% of hires. The other 12 boards? Wasting budget on unqualified volume. More applications doesn't equal more hires. It equals more screening time on candidates who don't fit. Post where quality candidates look. Track which boards convert to actual placements, not just applications. Cut boards that deliver volume without results. Your job posting strategy needs precision, not distribution. Job ads speak in code. Smart candidates translate it. “Fast-paced” means understaffed. “Self-starter” means no training. “Growth mindset” means expanding role. Read between the lines. Tailor your CV and proof stories to their real intent. That’s how you match both the manager’s mind and the ATS filter. Watch the video, decode smarter, and book your Clarity Call to learn how CareerCraft helps you turn job ads into job offers.

Are employers shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to job ads? I have worked with a handful of students and grads recently who haven't applied to positions because they don't fit one of 10 'Key Requirements'. Combined with all the corporate jargon, the graduate application process is new territory for most. Now I know a lot of employers don't like to put preferred degrees, majors, or minors in their JDs, as it isn't a necessity for non-technical positions, and they are open to finding the 'right' fit. However, students aren't feeling very confident in todays job market, and I fear the lack of clarification in some of the job advertisements I have seen is hindering employers in gaining appropriate applicants. I understand that most employers aren’t struggling to attract candidates right now, so this issue might not seem like a problem to them... I wanted to know if your organisation does it different to help clarify to potential candidates whether or not they would suit a position?

Now these days every recruiter is doing follow up with 2-3 shortlisted candidates in hand and candidate is also trying to keep 2-3 offers to compare before joining. Start with Plan A if not worked use Plan B, in case if required use Plan C also because SHOW MUST GO ON.
