John Byers’ Post

"They didn't do it intentionally." Heard someone dismiss another person's feelings with that line recently. But intent doesn't erase impact. Good intentions don't undo the hurt left behind. They don't undo the damage. They don't make the other person feel less. The person on the receiving end experiences your action, not your intention. At home and at work, the leaders worth following don't hide behind motive. They acknowledge impact first. They validate before they explain. Intent matters. But it doesn't get to override what someone else actually felt. #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #GrowthMindset
