Attribution debates usually sound technical. Pixels. iOS. GA4. Tracking gaps. But most of the time, the real issue is simpler: ownership. When the customer journey is shared, but accountability isn’t, reporting turns into opinion. Not clarity. Fix ownership first. Then fix attribution.

It’s time to adapt! If you’ve been relying on orientation or resizability restrictions to constrict your UI, it’s time to pivot. Android 17 (API level 37) is removing the developer opt-out for orientation and resizability restrictions on large screens (sw > 600 dp). Here is a 3-step checklist to ensure your app is large screen ready before the targeting API level 37: 1. Stop the "Stretch" Don't let your buttons and text fields span the entire width of a tablet. The Fix: Use the widthIn modifier in Jetpack Compose to keep UI elements readable and reachable. 2. Fix the Stretched Camera Preview Camera previews often break when a device is rotated or unfolded because they rely on fixed sensor-to-display ratios. The Fix: Switch to Jetpack CameraX. Its PreviewView automatically handles sensor orientation and scaling for you. Check out the blog post for additional camera guidance. 3. Save the State With mandatory resizability, your Activity will be recreated more often (folding/unfolding/split-screen). The Fix: Use rememberSaveable or ViewModels to ensure users don't lose their scroll position or form data during a configuration change. Android 17 Signals the End of Fixed Layout Thinking Android 17 Beta 1 introduces something bigger than new APIs — it introduces a mindset shift. The new continuous Canary channel replaces traditional Developer Previews, giving devs earlier access to features with better CI integration and OTA updates. But here’s the real headline: When targeting SDK 37, orientation and resizability opt-outs for large screens are removed. Tracking KPIs only works if you actually do it consistently. We just shipped keyboard shortcuts in the Adtaria Chrome extension: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + ↑/↓ to increment or decrease any KPI without leaving the tab you're in. Send a DM, bump the number. Finish a follow-up, bump the number. No app switching, no clicking around. Small thing. Big difference for daily consistency.
